Nine nonprofit groups in the Quad Cities, Ill., have been awarded a total of $90,000 in grants to help them "build and strengthen systems, structures, cultures, skills, resources and power necessary to serve their communities," per a press release from the Quad Cities Community Foundation.
Three groups received $20,000 each, while the other six received a total of $90,000, the Quad-City Times reports.
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley, EveryChild, Hand in Hand, Soles for Children, and Testimonies of Hope each received $20,000, while Ballet Quad Cities received $13,312 for a new Marley dance floor in the Alder Theater.
"Nonprofits improve the lives of everyone in our region," says the Community Foundation's grantmaking specialist.
"The region is going to see a big impact as a result."
